Presentation of 'Perlan dubrovački', the first champagne made of Dubrovnik Malvasija

“Perlan dubrovački“ is the only champagne in the world made of Malvasija, typical Mediterranean wine sort. Luckily we produced the first ever, said professor Bernard Kozina from Croatian Institute of Viticulture and Enology at Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb presenting it on Thursday afternoon, the very first champagne made of Dubrovnik Malvasija.

The agronomists and enologists Grgur Glavinić i Ivo Deranja presented their champagne in Matica hrvatska in Gruda.

They said that the champagne was produced in a few hundreds of bottles in cooperation with Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb. Congratulating to the enologists the mayor Luka Korda also expressed his pleasure for growing interest in Mediterranean culture. The county head for tourism and business Maro Kristić and secretary of Dubrovnik Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts Nikola Kalafatović also supported the project.

“Perlan dubrovački“ will also be presented at the festivity “ Festa od vina” organized by Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts and Croatian Chamber of Commerce as an introduction to the festival of St. Vlaho.
